Public forum to examine U.S. policy in Iraq and Afghanistan

As the new Obama administration enters office, the question of U.S. policy in Iraq and Afghanistan will quickly move to center stage.

On Monday, January 26, a public forum will be held in Minneapolis entitled, “Iraq & Afghanistan: The Case for Immediate Withdrawal.” The event will begin at 7 pm at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave. South, in Minneapolis.

Speaking at the forum will be will be Anthony Arnove, the author of Iraq: The Logic of Withdrawal and editor of Iraq Under Siege: The Deadly Impact of Sanctions and War and his most recent book, The Essential Chomsky.

Arnove has appeared on many radio & TV news and talk programs and has been published in The Nation, the Financial Times, Z magazine and many other publications. Arnove will make the case for why the US needs to withdraw from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
