Film Showing: Four Sisters for Peace

Southside Family Charter School and St. Joan of Arc Church invite you to join us in viewing “Four Sisters for Peace,” a half hour documentary about peace and justice as seen through the eyes and actions of four sisters who are also Catholic nuns (Rita, Brigid, Kate and Jane McDonald).

The documentary was created by a class of sixth to eighth grade students at Southside Family Charter School (now located at St. Joan’s). The students worked with their teacher Susie Oppenheim and artist-in-residence Mike Hazard.

The McDonald Sisters will be present to discuss their commitment to social justice, multi-generational activism and how their experiences as young women shaped their commitment toward change.

Southside Family Charter School students will share their experiences as young activists and their vision for change. Filmmaker Mike Hazard will join in the discussion.

Please join us for cookies and conversation in Hospitality Hall following the film.

This inspiring event is also a fundraiser to support the educational mission of Southside Family Charter School. If you cannot make the event feel free to donate online at http://givemn.razoo.com/story/Southside-Family-Charter-School
