Anti-War Message to Democratic Presidential Candidates:  No More Wall Street Wars!

February 12, 2016 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Friday, February 12, 2016 from 4:30 – 5:30pm at the River Center, 175 W Kellogg Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55102

The Anti-War Committee is organizing a picket at the 5th Annual Humphrey-Mondale Dinner on Friday, February 12that the RiverCenter to send a anti-war message to Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

The Anti-War Committee’s call for the protest says, “This is a chance for local progressive groups to voice our opposition to the Democratic Party’s policies on war, drones, surveillance, and mass incarceration. We are asking like-minded people to join us to demand an end to US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria and to say NO to US aid to Israel and Colombia.   The people of this country are opposed to war and we are not going to support another drone war Democrat!”

Meredith Aby-Keirstead, a spokesperson for the Anti-War Committee, explains, “Clinton voted for the war on Iraq and was a consistent voice for war in the Obama administration.  Both candidates do not want a change in US – Israeli relations.  They have both repeatedly voted for US aid to Israel and supported Israel during the 2014 war on Gaza.  Lastly, they both have vowed to continue using drones in warfare.  We feel both candidates are out of touch.  Minnesotans do not want to continue policies of endless war.”

The Anti-War Committee is expected to be joined by student and immigrant rights activists who also have criticisms of the Democratic Party and their candidates for president.
