8/3: Minnesotans detained in and deported from Israel return home and speak out

Below is the announcement for a press conference on MONDAY, AUGUST
3rd. We are asking supporters who can to join us at the airport at
12:30 so we can welcome Sarah and Katrina home, and show strong support
for them at their first public statements since they were held by
authorities in Israel. Please join us in the baggage claim area (riding
the light rail train is a good way to avoid parking costs).

7/23: Minnesotans to Protest the Surge in Afghanistan

For immediate Release: July 22, 2009

Anti-war
protesters will gather to express their opposition to President Obama’s
surge of 21,000 troops in Afghanistan on Thursday, July 23rd at 5:30 pm
in front of May Day Books at 301 Cedar Avenue South in Minneapolis.
Protestors will be bannering, chanting and handing out flyers to
encourage other Minnesotans to speak out against the war and occupation
in Afghanistan.

7 Anti-War Protesters Acquitted of Charges from Demonstration at National Guard Recruiting Office

On
January 14, a jury found 7 anti-war protesters not guilty of
trespassing at a Minneapolis National Guard recruiting office last
March. They were arrested with 9 others after trying to access the office
to protest both the lies told by recruiters and the illegality and
immorality of the war wage in Iraq by the US army. After two and a half days, the 6-member jury supported the defense argument that international law and the Constitution protect their rights to dissent.
