Poetry for Us Open Mic

Join us for a social justice themed open mic night at the up and coming venue Licorice Beach. With Tax Day fast approaching, let’s get angry bout how the government uses our dollars to bomb, police, lock up, infiltrate and surveil oppressed communities from MN to Gaza to Baghdad and beyond. And let’s envision possibilities for another world! Come share original work or read verses from your favorite revolutionaries, words from politicking sisters and brothers, or just poets you dig. Bring your lovers, neighbors, comrades, or strangers you want to get to know better– all are welcome! Sign up starts at 7:30. Show begins at 8:00. Young people given preference for performance slots.
