Peace Vigil: End the Wars (and don’t start new ones) – Bring the Troops Home Now! End U.S. Wars in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia
Wednesday, January 23rd from 4:30 – 5:30 pm Lake Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge over the Mississippi River between Minneapolis & St. Paul
People in the U.S. want an end to the endless wars. In December, the Trump Administration announced a withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria and Afghanistan. Since then the “withdrawal” has become a non withdrawal and there has been an escalation of U.S. bombing in Syria and a buildup of U.S. forces in Iraq. The only way wars end is when people mobilize to demand the troops be brought home. Sponsored by End War Committee of Women Against Military Madness and Twin Cities Peace Campaign. The call for the January 23 vigil is endorsed by: Anti-War Committee, Every Church a Peace Church, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, Mayday Books, Minnesota Peace Action Coalition, Minnesota War Tax Resistance, Rise Up Times, St. Joan of Arc Peacemakers, Socialist Action, Veterans for Peace (chapter 27), Welfare Rights Committee and others.
