Thursday, September 22nd from 6:30 PM – 8 PM @ Law Offices of De León, Nestor & Torres, 3547 Cedar Avenue South, Minneapolis
For over two hundred years the Haitian people have struggled for liberation and independence from foreign rule. Today, the former slave-holding powers of the United States and France continue to seek to control Haitian affairs, propping up the illegitimate government of Ariel Henry amid a wave of internal violence and warfare among gangs controlled by Haitian business and political elites.
Join the Haiti Justice Committee to demand United States Hands off Haiti and to raise money to express our concrete solidarity with the struggle of the Haitian people. Solidarity with Haiti!
An evening of light refreshments, music and short speeches to raise money for the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund (HERF) to support a teaching hospital and medical worker training center on the grounds of the University of the Aristide Foundation in Port Au Prince. As well as accepting donations for HERF, we will have a silent auction of Haitian art and other items. Sponsor: Haiti Justice Committee. Co-Sponsors: Anti-War Committee; Minnesota National Lawyers Guild; Women Against Military Madness (WAMM); Solidarity Committee on the Americas (SCOTA): Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC).
