Action Alert: Tell Minneapolis City Council to take a stand against genocide!
bit.ly/MPLSceasefirecallin
On Monday, January 8th, the Minneapolis city council was set to vote on a ceasefire resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire in Palestine. The council voted to refer the resolution to committee to allow for possible amendments to the language. As it stands, this ceasefire resolution is the most progressive resolution in the country. It is imperative that we urge the council to be steadfast in their aim to pass a resolution that does not water down the language of genocide, focuses on Israel’s crimes against Palestinians, calls for Minnesota to divest from companies complicit in the genocide of Palestinians, and demands an end to U.S. aid to Israel.
Join us in calling your city council member to urge them to pass the ceasefire resolution.

CALL-IN SCRIPT
Hello, my name is ______. I’m reaching out as a concerned resident to urge your support for the ceasefire resolution. It is crucial to acknowledge the severity of the situation, with over 20,000 Palestinians having lost their lives since October 7th. The attacks on Palestinians must be accurately labeled for what they are – genocide. Furthermore, it’s essential to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and avoid endorsing a false equivalency through a “both sides” argument.
Minneapolis should take a principled stance in favor of justice and human rights. This issue extends beyond mere “foreign policy”; as a resident of Minnesota, I am aware that my tax dollars are contributing to the funding of this ongoing genocide. I strongly urge the city council to endorse the call for divestment from companies complicit in the occupation of Palestine. Additionally, I call for the United States to terminate all aid to Israel.
Minneapolis has the opportunity to lead the way among cities passing ceasefire resolutions, and now is the time for bold action.
