Al Nakba: Call in Day Against US Military Aid
Monday, May 15, 2017 – All Day
202-225-3121
May 15, 1948 marked the establishment of the state of Israel on Palestinian land. This day is marked as “Al Nakba,” Arabic for “The Catastrophe”. During the 1948 war, at least 750,000 Palestinian men, women, and children were ruthlessly attacked, massacred, and driven from their homes into refugee camps and have never been allowed to return. This is in violation of international law!
On Al Nakba call your Congressmember to speak out against US aid to Israel. To find the contact info for your member of Congress go to: https://www.callmycongress.com/.
Since 1948, Israel has received more than $234 billion in U.S. aid to occupy Palestine. This does not include the $38 billion that Israel will receive in the next 10 years. 2017 marks 69 years of U.S.-backed Israeli occupation. US aid to Israel is $3.8 billion a year for missiles, F-35 joint strike fighters and military ground actions. The US should not be funding the Israeli military which is used to suppress the Palestinian population and to threaten Iran.
Show your solidarity with Palestine on Al-Nakba! Say NO to U.S. aid to Israel!
Organized by the Anti-War Committee.
