On Friday, Sept. 24th five Minneapolis activists homes were raided, along with two houses in Chicago. Fourteen anti-war & Int’l Solidarity activists throughotu the country were issue subpoenas to serve before a grand jury. This witch hunt is, in its most basic form, a war against the ideas against activists throughout the country. One SDS member and U of M workers were amongst those targeted by the raids. Join us for a panel discussion about fighting back against the repression of ideas and building a growing movement despite the repression!

Read MoreRecently, the FBI has raided anti-war activists and offices in several cities, including Minneapolis. Several have received subpoenas to appear before a grand jury this month. All have refused to testify, on the advice of lawyers, and are at risk of further prosecution and jail. Speakers will be: 71 year old anti-war activist and co-chair of WAMM, Sarah Martin, who was subpoenaed; Meredith Aby, school teacher and member of the Anti-War Committee whose home was raided; and lawyer and Holy Trinity member, Ted Dooley.

It is with strong and mixed emotions that we bring important news: there appears to be a major change in the cases of the four remaining RNC 8 defendants–Garrett, Max, Nathanael and Rob. The four have tentatively reached a plea agreement with prosecutors, likely avoiding trial. The agreement, if it goes according to plan, significantly reduces the charge, calls for favorable sentencing, and is non-cooperating.
