#646DropTheCharges Protest and Dance Party
Saturday. October 16th @ 6 PM @ Painter Park, 620 W 34th St, Minneapolis
We will not be intimidated by the state repression of our right to protest! We will continue to fight together for all charges to be dropped! Meet us at Painter Park (620 W 34th St, Minneapolis) at 6 PM for a dance party/protest. Be safe, be visible, wear a mask.
Bring good vibes and revolutionary spirit!
Demands:
1) We demand the charges be dropped for all 646+ protesters arrested on 1-94 November 4th 2020.
2) We demand community control of the police now. We want a publicly elected Civilian Police Accountability Commission in Minneapolis. We want power back in the hands of community members; those killer cops have got to go!
646 Explained: On November 4, 2020 hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Minneapolis to demand justice after the murder of #GeorgeFloyd by the #MPD demanding #Trump not steal the election, demanding a stop to police crimes, and demanding that our elected officials be responsible to the people. As the demonstration was headed off highway 94 onto 25th Ave S (after getting on at Cedar Ave) the protesters were “kettled” by a combination of heavily armed (and maskless) local and federal police forces including the national guard. The police held protesters on the highway for 6 hours, blocking both sides of the major highway. The community members were then piled into buses and released at random locations across the metro area, leaving minors as far as the Mall of America. In this one night 646 peaceful protesters were charged.
