Thursday, September 29th from 7-9pm @ May Day Books, 301 Cedar Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55454
Join us to discuss David Bacon’s The Right to Stay Home: How US Policy Drives Mexican Migration. The book explores how U.S. policies are forcing the migration of millions of Mexican people northward, mainly to the U.S. It also discusses how the oppression and criminalization of Mexicans results in increasing austerity and poverty for both Mexicans and Americans. We will discuss the book, the role of US policy towards Mexico, the 2016 election, and the resistance to US policy in both the US and Mexico. Please join us for a lively discussion! We encourage folks to buy the book at May Day but it is also available as an ebook through Hennepin County Libraries. Co-sponsored by the Anti-War Committee and May Day Books.
