Iyad Burnat is a Palestinian peace activist in the West Bank village of Bil’in on a national tour.  Come hear him talk about the popular resistance in Palestine.  Iyad is the head of the Bil’in Popular Committee against the Wall, and has led non-violent weekly demonstrations since 2005 against the Israeli West Bank barriers. Iyad is also head of Friends of Freedom and Justice in Bil’in, a pro-Palestinian organization with the stated aims of building a “wide network of people from all over the globe who support Freedom and Justice for all”.  Iyad and the Bil’in movement were featured in the Academy Award nominated film Five Broken Cameras.  Co-sponsored by the Anti-War Committee, Students for a Democratic Society and MN Students for Justice in Palestine at the U of MN.
