Join us for a protest of Matisyahu’s show at First Avenue!

GATHER ON THE CORNER OF N. IST AVE & N. 7TH ST, OUTSIDE OF THE PARKING GARAGE ACROSS FROM FIRST AVENUE
Matisyahu is an admitted zionist who claims to be “pro-peace” but insists on supporting the Israeli military despite their ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. He can be seen serenading the infamous Golani brigade as recently as January on his Instagram page.
Matisyahu uses his platform to promote colonial narratives that say Palestinians are ultimately the cause of their own suffering (TRT World 2023), and denies Palestine’s very existence in an interview from 2012 in which he is quoted as saying “there was never a country called Palestine” (TRT World 2023). He is an affront to actual legends of the reggae genre such as Bob Marley and Peter Tosh who used their platforms to spread de-colonial thinking and peace.
Protests of his recent shows have been held in numerous cities across the country, and we’ll be doing our part by holding a bannering and noise demonstration on the corner across from the First Avenue entrance! Bring a drum, bring a friend, and help us get LOUD to show Matisyahu that zionists are not welcome in Minneapolis!
