Emergency Response Protest! The U.S. Supreme Court has decided to hear arguments in October 2017 for the #MuslimBan. This means that the ban will go into effect almost immediately – (Thursday of this week) – targeting the immigrants and refugees of 6 Muslim-majority countries: Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Join us to rise up and #resist this racist attack!
Join us to say:
Muslims are welcome here!
Refugees & immigrants are welcome here!
We say NO to war and racism!
War creates refugees!
Join the Anti-War Committee in sending a loud message of NO to President Trump and the Supreme Court’s decision to allow parts of the #MuslimBan to take effect before hearing oral arguments in October. This same ban was defeated earlier this year by thousands of people mobilizing in the streets, at airports & at federal buildings and with federal appeals courts in multiple states putting an end to it.
We need to continue showing a message of solidarity with our immigrant neighbors. Join us to speak out against anti-Muslim bigotry and war! The protest will start with a rally at 4:30PM at the Federal Building in DT MPLS to repeat our message of #NoBanNoBombsNoWar!
On Monday, June 26th, the media reported that the Supreme Court has decided to hear argument for the #MuslimBan. This means that a version of the original draft will go into effect almost immediately and will likely stay in place for at least 90 days. The amended ban says that the U.S. will temporarily ban entries from six majority-Muslim countries (Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen) UNLESS they have a “bona fide relationship to a person or entity in the United States.”
It is criminal for the U.S. to bomb and attack other countries and then turn away refugees when the U.S. has destroyed their homelands! It is outrageous for Trump, backed by the approval of the Supreme Court, to consider doing this while at the same time expand the bombings & killings in these same countries!
It is upon us to speak out against his racist foreign policy! All out on Thursday!
