SUMMARY:Stand For DACA
DESCRIPTION:Stand For DACA\n\nFriday\, June 12th @ 5:30 PM outside of Senator Klobuchar’s office\, 1200 S Washington Ave\, Minneapolis\n\nWe will be marching so please plan accordingly! We will begin the march at Amy Klobauchar’s Office and march to Hennepin County Jail @ 401 S 4th Ave as the decision for DACA’s fate is unclear. Which will result 800\,000 young immigrants to lose their protection for deportation.  We MUST stand together to make out voices heard. The historic uprising for justice has further exposed the systemic racism in this country. Join MIRAC to demand full legalization for DACA recipients and for all immigrants and an end to the militarization of our communities and the crimes committed daily by police and ICE agents.  To protect against COVID-19\, everyone that comes should wear a mask\, and we encourage social distancing while participating.  Organized by the MN Immigrant Rights Action Committee.

SUMMARY:Justice for George Floyd - We Demand Change NOW!
DESCRIPTION:Justice for George Floyd – We Demand Change NOW!\n\nThursday\, June 11th from 5 – 7 pm @ Hennepin County Government Center\, 300 6th St S\, Minneapolis\nOur government leaders have failed time and again to hold police accountable and to take the actions necessary to address the underlying racism and inequities that led to the killing of George Floyd and many others.  As the smoke of the fires of rage starts to clear\, the most important thing we can do is demand the changes needed to ensure police accountability and prevent future deaths of community members at the hands of police.  THE PUBLIC ARE INVITED TO PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCE BY KEEPING 6FT APART FROM ONE ANOTHER!  Endorsed by the Anti-War Committee.

SUMMARY:Al Nakba Car Rally & Parade: Say NO to US Aid to Israel! End Israeli Apartheid!
DESCRIPTION:Al Nakba Car Rally & Parade:  Say NO to US Aid to Israel! End Israeli Apartheid! \nFriday\, May 15th @ 6 pm @ parking lot at 43rd and Central Ave. in Columbia Heights (across the street from Filfillah Restaurant 4301 Central Ave NE) \nMay 15\, 1948 marks Al Nakba\, Arabic for The Catastrophe – the day Israel was declared an independent state in historic Palestine.  During the 1948 war\, at least 750\,000 Palestinians were ruthlessly attacked\, massacred\, and driven from their homes by Zionist terror groups.  In violation of international law\, these displaced people have never been allowed to return.  The year 2020 marks 72 years of U.S.-backed Israeli occupation and apartheid. \nDuring the current COVID-19 pandemic\, the Israeli government’s callous and deadly disregard for Palestinian lives is reaching new heights as it continues to deny basic medical safety equipment from getting to Palestinian hospitals\, which were already dangerously short of basic necessities like soap. And the Israeli government continues to shut off power to Gaza for huge parts of the day. \nThis is a critical moment to fight for Palestine & Palestinian rights\, and we need to keep up the pressure to demand an end to U.S. aid to Israel!  We have the opportunity to raise the demand of Free Palestine. Join us! \nWe mark Al-Nakba every year but this year we will protest under pandemic conditions and will therefore do it differently.  We will gather safely in our vehicles\, following social distancing guidelines\, to mark this important day and shed light on Israeli apartheid.  Please bring your own signs and Palestinian flags to decorate your cars.  We will gather at 43rd and Central  and then do a parade up and down Central Avenue to show our solidarity and pride in Palestine. \nSponsored by the Anti-War Committee and MN American Muslims for Palestine. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:The Sanctions Kill Coalition Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The Sanctions Kill Coalition Webinar \nSaturday May 9\, 2020 — 4:00 PM EST\, 3:00 PM CST \nIran Is Also Participating: \n\nVenezuela — Carlos J. Ron Martinez\, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs \nSyria — Dr. Bashar Ja’afari\, Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations \nNicaragua — Francisco O Campbell\, Nicaraguan Ambassador to the U.S. \nCuba — Ana Silvia Rodriguez Abascal\, Charge des Affaires of the Cuban Mission to the UN \nZimbabwe — Dr. Frank Guni\, Secretary for Administration\, ZANU-PF North America \nIran — Majid Takht-Ravanchi\, Iranian Ambassador to the United Nations \nThe US has imposed economic sanctions against 39 countries. In many cases\, this denies them access to medicine and medical equipment as well as access to world markets for food and other necessities. During the coronavirus crisis the US\, with the highest death count in the world\, has upped the sanctions against countries like Iran and Venezuela\, and has tried to weaponize COVID-19 to bring down governments that will not follow the dictates of Washington and Wall Street. \nThe UN has asked that sanctions be loosened during this crisis but the US has done the opposite. Many US allies have broken with them and sent medical aid to some of these countries. Now is an important time for the people in the US to come out strongly against these sanctions\, which are simply war by other means. \nFor more information: https://sanctionskill.org/

SUMMARY:Call in day: Free Palestine!
DESCRIPTION:We are no longer having a visibility bannering as part of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network’s global week of action. Instead we will be organizing a call in day.  #GreatReturnMarch #LandDay \nOn March 30\, 1976\, Land Day marked a turning point as the first mass mobilization by Palestinians within Israel against colonialism and land theft. Israeli police shot and killed six Palestinian citizens of Israel for protesting the Israeli government’s expropriation of Palestinian land. Land Day’s significance in the Palestinian political calendar was compounded in 2018\, when hundreds were killed and thousands injured by Israeli sniper fire as Palestinians demanded their Right of Return to their stolen land with mass protests in Gaza\, called the Great March of Return. \nOrganized by the Anti-War Committee \nPlease call Sen Klobuchar at 202-224-3244 or 612-727-5220 and demand she change her position on U.S. aid to Israel. Below is a script you can use: \n“Sen Klobuchar\, we demand you support peace and justice in Palestine.  Your support for apartheid Israel undermines all efforts for justice\, and therefore peace.  The Covid-19 pandemic means even greater misery for Palestinians in the West Bank\, and the Gaza open air prison.  In response to the pandemic the Israeli government has increased the repression of Palestinians\, not addressed their health needs.  Your support for keeping the US embassy in Jerusalem\, your pledge to continue U.S. aid to Israel\, your pledge to increase support for Israel if elected president emphasizes your support for human rights atrocities by the government of Israel.  As your constituents we are disappointed that you voted for an anti-BDS (Boycott Divest Sanctions) bill which criminalizes free speech critical of Israel’s human rights abuses. As your constituents we disapprove of the way you tried to play us by saying you would not attend the 2020 AIPAC conference on 2/26 and then on 2/28 sending the conference a supportive video message. We support the Boycott\, Divest and Sanction movement and the Palestinian Right of Return!  End US Aid to Israel! End the Blockade of Gaza and other Human Rights Abuses of Palestinians!”

SUMMARY:UNAC Conference 2020
DESCRIPTION:UNAC Conference 2020:  Rise Against Militarism\, Racism and the Climate Crisis Building Power Together A National Conference\nFebruary 21-23 @ the People’s Forum 320 West 37th Street (between 8th & 9th Avenues) New York\, NY 10018 \nOrganized by the United National Antiwar Coalition (UNAC) has made great strides since its 2017 conference which was held in Richmond\, Virginia. Since that time new organizations have joined our coalition. Our members have traveled as part of delegations to Venezuela\, Ukraine\, Syria and Cuba. We have held conferences on U.S./NATO military bases in Baltimore\, Maryland and Dublin\, Ireland. We have organized against the militarization of police departments\, AFRICOM\, and punishing sanctions against other nations. Our members prevented the illegal Venezuelan coup government from taking over the Washington embassy\, while others walked picket lines with striking workers.  In 2020 we mobilize against ecocide\, white supremacist policy and war in all its forms. We gather to put the issue of peace before the voters in an election year and to protest against anti-immigrant policies. Our principles of unity will be strengthened as we gather to stop the wars at home and abroad.  The UNAC conference will be a place where we deepen that unity and build the our movement for the next stage of struggle.  FFI:  https://www.unacconference2020.org/

In fact\, the Palestinians have rejected it already! \n Trump’s plan legitimizes Israeli settlements and steals even more Palestinian West Bank land for Israel.  Additionally\, the U.S. continues to arm Israel to the teeth despite Israel’s attacks and blockade which starves Palestinians in Jerusalem\, the West Bank\, and what has become an open air prison in Gaza. \n Join us to send a message of solidarity to Palestine\, and a strong message to Trump and all the presidential candidates that we will support the Palestinian people’s resistance to this plan in Palestine\, in the U.S.\, and everywhere else. \nCo-sponsored by the Anti-War Committee & Women Against Military Madness.

SUMMARY:Human Rights Day Protest
DESCRIPTION:Human Rights Day Protest\n\n\nTuesday\, December 10th @ 4:30 pm outside of Senator Klobuchar’s office\, 1200 S Washington Ave (Washington Ave & 35W)\, Minneapolis\n\n\n \n\n\nWe will rally at Senator Klobuchar’s office followed by a march to May Day Books at 301 Cedar Ave. S. where we will have a closing rally inside. Together we will draw attention to US human rights abuses at home and abroad on December 10th – Human Rights Day. The US uses the language of human rights to impose sanctions on Iran\, Venezuela\, and Cuba. Meanwhile Trump has denied thousands of asylum seekers their human rights at the US-Mexico border. Trump has used hate speech against Muslims in the United States and banned them from entering from war torn countries. And the U.S. government continuously refuses to act in support of the basic human rights to education\, healthcare\, housing and work. Lastly\, people of color are targeted by police and killed at an outrageous rate in their own communities. This comes on top of longstanding US wars and interventions\, which NEVER bring human rights. Instead\, they brutally subject the people’s of the world to occupation and instability\, while stealing their natural resources and suppressing their rights to self-determination. We see this clearly in Bolivia this month where the U.S. is supporting a coup! And we see it in Palestine\, where the U.S. encourages illegal annexations for Israeli settlers\, and funds the violent siege of Gaza. Join with us to demand respect for human rights at home and abroad! \n\n\n \n\n\nInitiated by the Anti-War Committee.

SUMMARY:Protest Trump & the Republican Party's Bigotry
DESCRIPTION:Protest Trump & the Republican Party’s Bigotry\nSunday\, November 10th @ noon @ the MN GOP Headquarters\, 7400 Metro Blvd\, Edina\, MN \n\nTrump lies lead to a rise in hate crimes in every county where he held a campaign rally in 2016. Statics show that hate crimes doubled compared to other counties\, and it’s because his blatantly hateful rhetoric is designed to incite violence and further racist and xenophobic views.\n\nOn October 10th Trump came to MN and had a hate rally. The MN Republican Party not only hosted him but have been silent as he attacked the immigrant and refugee communities that are a part of MN. We will take our protest to the MN GOP headquarters one month later to hold them accountable! \n\n\n\n\nJoin us to protest the violence the president inflicts on our communities from the White House but also how he incites his supporters to commit violence!\n\n\n\nNo Ban! No Wall! Legalization for All!\n\n\nImmigrants and Muslims are Welcome in MN – Not Trump!\nSay NO to Anti-Muslim Bigotry!\n\nInitiated by the Anti-War Committee.
