SUMMARY:Say No to Trump’s plan to move US Embassy to Jerusalem!
DESCRIPTION:Trump’s announcement to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and recognize it as Israel’s capital is widely opposed internationally including by the 57 member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. It will end the US policy that the status of Jerusalem would only come in negotiations between Palestine and Israel. \nThis unilateral move is further proof that Trump and the US are not and never have been “honest brokers for peace” in the middle east. \nPalestinians\, Arabs and Muslims across the Middle East are rising up against this violation of international law and Palestinian self-determination. Palestinians are calling for 3 days of rage and people of conscience across the world are joining in. Join WAMM weekly vigil Friday Dec. 8 4:30-5:30 to protest this unjust\, illegal action. for info: 612-437-0222 \nCall the White House to express your opposition and outrage. 202-456-1111

SUMMARY:What's Behind U.S. War Threats on North Korea?
DESCRIPTION:What’s Behind U.S. War-Threats on North Korea? \nPublic forum: \nWhat’s Behind U.S. War-Threats on North Korea? \nTuesday\, October 24th 7:00 PM\n Law School Mondale Hall Room 50 (UMN West Bank) | 229 19th Ave S\, Minneapolis\, MN 55455 \nFeaturing: \nSharon Chung\,\n Korean Education & Exposure Program (KEEP) \nChristine Ahn\n Founder and International Coordinator of Women Cross the DMZ\, co-founder of Korea Policy Institute\, Korea Peace Network and Korean Americans for Fair Trade. She is a policy analyst with expertise on Korea\, globalization\, militarism and women’s rights. \nRoy Wolff\n Member\, Veterans for Peace (chapter 21)\, U.S. Army veteran\, stationed in South Korea for 16 months (1955-57). Local writer and speaker on peace and anti-war issues. Has travelled to both North and South Korea in the years since he was in the U.S. Army. \nSponsored by: Minnesota Peace Action Coalition & Students for a Democratic Society. \nCo-sponsored by: Anti-War Committee\, Mayday Books\, Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee\, Twin Cities Peace Campaign\, Women Against Military Madness\, Veterans for Peace and others. \nFor more information 612 275-2720 or 612 827-5364. \nThe U.S. has carried out war threats against North Korea for years and has occupied the Korean peninsula with thousands of U.S. troops since the 1950s. This maneuvering by the U.S. is seen by North Korea as an ongoing threat to its national sovereignty. For North Korea\, the Korean War (1950-1953) has never ended and the U.S. has refused to ever sign a peace treaty to end it. \nTrump’s menacing statements against North Korea\, cannot be seen as idle threats. After the Korean War\, US Air Force General\, Curtis LeMay boasted that\, “we . . . eventually burned down every town in North Korea” and “over a period of three years or so we killed off\, what\, 20 percent of the population of Korea”. \nNow\, senator Lindsey Graham discusses war on North Korea as harmless to the rest of the world: “If there’s going to be a war\, it will be over there. If thousands die\, they’re going to die over there. They’re not going to die here.” \nTrump’s escalating war threats point to a renewed Korean war and a new act of genocide that will not only impact the Korean people but the people of the world as well. Come for a discussion on the history of U.S. military involvement on the Korean Peninsula\, and why U.S. war there should be opposed.

Reports are that more U.S. military forces are being sent to Korea\, including an additional aircraft carrier. \nThe statement goes on to say\, “There is a proposal to avert war and start talks\, “freeze for freeze.” in which North Korea suspends its nuclear and missile testing in exchange for halting or scaling back these massive U.S.-South Korean military exercises and for an a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War.” \n“There is a real danger of a new U.S. war\, everyone opposed must speak out. The weekly vigil is one way to speak out against war\,” the statement said. \nThe vigil is sponsored by End War Committee of Women Against Military Madness and the Twin Cities Peace Campaign.  Endorsed by the Anti-War Committee. \nFFI:  https://www.facebook.com/Minnesota-Peace-Action-Coalition-133071846772683/

Jeffrey Rothecker\, Jan. 2016. Rest in Power Comrade! #Justice4Heather No Fascists! No KKK! Racist USA! \nThe time is now. Like no other time in history. We have the ability. We have the numbers. We have the determination. We have the organization. We have the solidarity. We have the scars. We have the false allegations. We have the charges. We have the brutalized. We have the pain. We have the buried. We have the memories. We have the duty to fight for our freedom! #ColinKaepernick #Stand4Kaepernick . We have the duty to win! \nFrom police brutality\, mass incarceration and corporate violence (St. Anthony Village)\, to institutional racism and capitalism\, the System continues to destroy our ability have peace\, live\, and thrive\, as well as siphon the natural resources of Mother Earth. #NoDAPL #NativeLivesMatter . Minnesota is home to the nation’s largest Somalis community. #StopIslamophobia. We must love and protect one another. #BlackLivesMatter #LGBTQLivesMatter . When you take a stand against injustice\, your life matters. \nOn Sunday September 3\, 2017\, we will add another item to the list of things on a stick at the Minnesota State Fair\, #InjusticeOnaStick. The list of people executed by Minnesota law enforcement continues to grow: Justine Damond\, Cordale Q. SMH. Minnesota must do better. \nIn 2016 at #MNStateAintFair\, among the people named as stolen lives were Geno Smith\, Map Kong\, Jaffort Smith and Philando Cast. SUMMARY:Solidarity with Anti-Racists in Charlottesville: Mpls Protest!
DESCRIPTION:Protest in solidarity with Charlottesville anti-racist protesters!\nMinneapolis stands against white supremacy\, from Charlottesville to the White House! \nMonday\, August 14\n5:00 pm\nGather outside the Republican Party Office\n2200 East Franklin Avenue\nMinneapolis\, MN 55404 \nJoin us Monday\, August 14 at 5:00 pm to stand in solidarity with the heroic anti-racist protestors who were violently attacked by white nationalist terrorists in Charlottesville\, Virginia on Saturday. \nWe will gather outside the Minneapolis Republican Party office on Franklin Avenue to show our solidarity with the anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville and our outrage at the white supremacists from the streets of Charlottesville to the halls of the White House. Join us in the streets to show we are not afraid and we will oppose racist attacks whenever and wherever they happen. . \nOn Friday and Saturday\, anti-racist protesters opposing a white supremacist ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville\, VA faced a vicious attack. As protesters gathered near a downtown mall in Charlottesville\, a grey car drove at high speed into the crowd of activists\, killing at least one and injuring at least 19 others. \nThis sickening crime is part of the rise in white supremacists since the election of Donald Trump. His presidency has emboldened forces like white nationalists\, Neo-Nazis\, and the KKK. Trump and his cohort’s racist hate speech against immigrants and communities of color has facilitated the rise of hate crimes and violence. The anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville were correct to oppose these forces\, and everyone who loves peace\, freedom and equality should continue to visibly oppose this racist and reactionary movement. \nProtest endorsed by:\nAnti-War Committee\nCommunities United Against Police Brutality (CUAPB)\nMinnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC)\nStudents for a Democratic Society (SDS) – UMN\nWelfare Rights Committee

SUMMARY:Say NO to Trump's #MuslimBan! Twin Cities Resist!
DESCRIPTION:Emergency Response Protest! The U.S. Supreme Court has decided to hear arguments in October 2017 for the #MuslimBan. This means that the ban will go into effect almost immediately – (Thursday of this week) – targeting the immigrants and refugees of 6 Muslim-majority countries: Syria\, Iran\, Libya\, Somalia\, Sudan\, and Yemen. Join us to rise up and #resist this racist attack! \nJoin us to say:\nMuslims are welcome here!\nRefugees & immigrants are welcome here!\nWe say NO to war and racism!\nWar creates refugees! \nJoin the Anti-War Committee in sending a loud message of NO to President Trump and the Supreme Court’s decision to allow parts of the #MuslimBan to take effect before hearing oral arguments in October. This same ban was defeated earlier this year by thousands of people mobilizing in the streets\, at airports & at federal buildings and with federal appeals courts in multiple states putting an end to it. \nWe need to continue showing a message of solidarity with our immigrant neighbors. Join us to speak out against anti-Muslim bigotry and war! The protest will start with a rally at 4:30PM at the Federal Building in DT MPLS to repeat our message of #NoBanNoBombsNoWar! \nOn Monday\, June 26th\, the media reported that the Supreme Court has decided to hear argument for the #MuslimBan. This means that a version of the original draft will go into effect almost immediately and will likely stay in place for at least 90 days. The amended ban says that the U.S. will temporarily ban entries from six majority-Muslim countries (Iran\, Syria\, Sudan\, Libya\, Somalia\, and Yemen) UNLESS they have a “bona fide relationship to a person or entity in the United States.” \nIt is criminal for the U.S. to bomb and attack other countries and then turn away refugees when the U.S. has destroyed their homelands! It is outrageous for Trump\, backed by the approval of the Supreme Court\, to consider doing this while at the same time expand the bombings & killings in these same countries! \nIt is upon us to speak out against his racist foreign policy! All out on Thursday! \nOrganized by the Anti-War Committee \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/440811459608483
