Fight COVID 19 – Not Wars!
Fight Covid 19, Not Wars!
Emergency Response Car Parade Protest – No Wars on Iran or Venezuela!
Date TBD – 5pm at the Target parking lot at Lake and Minnehaha, Minneapolis
Anti-War Alert:
Be prepared to speak out – As U.S. threatens new wars:
Twin Cities peace and anti-war groups will hold a “social distancing” protest, because our social responsibilities to act against war have not ended. The time and date of event is to be determined.
On April 1st Trump announced he was considering air strikes on Iran and on April 2nd he sent Navy war ships to the Caribbean to threaten Venezuela.
At the same time the Trump administration has continued and tightened sanctions on both Venezuela and Iran. Iran’s health ministry has said that one person dies from coronavirus every 10 minutes and 50 are becoming infected every hour. Last week, Venezuela reported 144 coronavirus infections and three deaths. They face a catastrophic outcome if the disease spreads widely because 80 percent of its hospitals lack even basic supplies, including soap
We cannot let Trump use the COVID 19 pandemic as an opportunity to start new wars. Now is a key time to say “Money for human needs not for war!”
Since it is not safe for us to gather in large numbers. Therefore we are inviting our supporters who are able to be ready to gather at 5pm at the Target parking lot at Lake St. and Minnehaha Avenue for a car protest parade. You will not be asked to get out of your car or to gather with other people. We will ask you to decorate your car with a sign or with soap and to honk your horn as we drive down Lake Street towards St. Paul.

If you are unable to come to the car parade protest we ask that you call your senators and the White House to say no to the president’s newest war and to demand an end to sanctions.
The Twin Cities anti-war movement can’t be silent while the U.S. government tries to kill people in Latin America and the Middle East.
We will keep our attention to events as they unfold and let you know on social media if we call for an emergency protest.
