Protest: Stop AIPAC!

Wednesday, June 29th from 5:30-7:30 pm @ Hilton Minneapolis, 1001 Marquette Avenue

What do a Bush/Reagan convicted criminal (Elliot Abrams) and our liberal governor have in common? Both support AIPAC’s efforts to ensure U.S. support for Israeli apartheid and ethnic cleansing. Both will be featured at the annual MN AIPAC event.  AIPAC, or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, describes itself as the most important organization affecting the U.S. relationship with Israel. Because our politicians are fearful of confronting AIPAC, they give in to AIPAC’s demands no matter what the impact on the U.S. or the Mideast, enabling Israel to commit flagrant human rights abuses and violation of international law. AIPAC works to ensure that Israel remain the largest recipient of U.S. military aid and weapons: more than $3 billion/year.  Elliot Abrams was one of the most odious participants during one of the most shameful chapters of U.S. history. Abrams supervised U.S. policy in Latin America which resulted in the murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, killed at the hands of American-trained death squads and military units. He lied to the Congress about the atrocities, was convicted of perjury and later pardoned by George H.W. Bush. As a member of the National Security Council under little Bush, he oversaw disastrous and unjust and unjust Mideast policies.  Voice your opposition to U.S. military aid to Israel directly to the lobbyists and politicians who support it!  Organized by the Coalition for Palestinian Rights.
