Remember #51DaysinGaza Protest and March
Wednesday, July 8th @ 4:30pm, March through Uptown – starting from Loring Park in Minneapolis
Join us to commemorate the Palestinian lives stolen by the Israeli military’s horrific 51 day bombing of Gaza in July – August 2014. With 2,200 Palestinians massacred including 519 children, with 7 United Nations shelters bombed, with over 108,000 people left homeless due to the targeting of multistory family homes, with the deliberate damaging of Gaza’s only power plant, with clear incitements to genocide from top Israeli officials, the apartheid state of Israel committed innumerable atrocities for which it still has not been held accountable. The US is directly complicit in these war crimes, providing $3 billion in foreign aid to Israel every year. This past summer we witnessed some of the largest Palestine solidarity protests ever in Minnesota. Join us to continue to build a movement opposing US aid to Israel and to mark the 1-year anniversary of Israel’s war on Gaza with a march through Uptown Minneapolis. We will launch our social media campaign #51daysinGaza, remember the lives stolen too soon, and share action steps to demand justice in solidarity with Palestine.
Organized by the Anti-War Committee. Endorsed by Women Against Military Madness (WAMM), Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP UMN), Veterans for Peace Chapter 27 Minneapolis, Minnesota Peace Action Coalition, Welfare Rights Committee, Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAc), US Palestinian Community Network-Minnesota Chapter, Minnesota Break the Bonds Campaign, American Muslims for Palestine – Minnesota.
