Stand with the UMN Palestine Protesters!
🚨🚨The UMN administration is suspending 7 students who occupied the Halimy Hall on October 21. In addition to suspension, students are asked to pay $5,500 each in restitution! Students are being suspended up to 5 semesters and their transcripts are not released to them!
🍉🍉 On Tuesday, December 3rd, Minneapolis City Council member Robin Wonsely will introduce a groundbreaking resolution in solidarity with UMN students who were arrested on October 21, 2024 for protesting the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the university’s refusal to divest from the Israeli state’s genocide and apartheid. 🍉🔥
The resolution asks UMN and the city and county attorneys to drop all charges against student activists and to protect the right for students to protest đź“Ł
đź“ž Call Minneapolis council members on Monday December 2nd and ask them to support this resolution!

I’m calling in support of Council Member Robin Wonsley’s resolution in solidarity with  the UMN students who were arrested during the occupation of Halimy Hall on October 21st. The University has announced that it will suspend 7 out of 8 protestors for up to 2 and ½ years and will charge them over $5000 in restitution. This is an unjust and excessive punishment for a peaceful protest. I urge you to vote YES on Council Member Wonsley’s resolution and support the students’ academic freedom and their First Amendment Right to protest!
