Support the Anti-War Committee – order your pies today!

pies for peace

Love the taste of home-made apple and pumpkin pies, but don’t love the effort? Let the talented bakers of the Anti-War Committee provide for you! Eat the pies right away, or store frozen for a cold winter day.

Pick them up Saturday, November 21st at Bethany Lutheran Church (2511 E. Franklin Ave, Mpls) — just in time for Thanksgiving supper. Thank you for your support and bon appetit!

Now off to baking…
Thank you!

More about our pies…

We are using organic Haralson apples donated by the Women’s Environmental Institute at Amador Hill. Our organic pumpkins are also donated by Sylvan Hills Farm, a Wisconsin CSA. Hampden Park Coop, Eastside Coop, and Pastureland Cooperative are also supporting our efforts with some of our pie ingredients. Even Butter Bakery Cafe is helping us by supplying the pie tins. Thank you all!

The apple pies can be made vegan (please specify, so we ensure no butter makes it into your batch), but the pumpkin pies are very dairy.

Baked or unbaked?

Both can be frozen and served on Thanksgiving or later. If you buy your pie baked, you will save yourself time – it’s just thaw (or warm) and serve. If you buy your pie unbaked, you’ll save the AWC a little time and have a fresher taste to your pie when served. The choice is yours, and we’ll include detailed instructions for whichever choice you make.

Bon appétit!
