In October, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz outlawed six leading Palestinian human rights groups, labeling them “terrorist organizations”. No trials were held, nor were these groups given the opportunity to respond to the accusations against them. The Anti-War Committee joins with civil society organizations in the U.S. and across the globe to denounce the labeling of Palestinian human rights groups as “terrorist organizations”. We call on others to join us in denouncing this action. We commend Minnesota’s Rep. Betty McCullom for her stand against Gantz’ targeting of human rights organizations and her vocal support and partnership with Defense for Children International Palestine in particular. We call Minnesota’s senators to join her and for the U.S. to end aid to Israel. The U.S. should NOT be sending almost $4 billion a year to Israel with its atrocious human rights record!

I am writing/calling today to express my concern about Israel’s recent action to criminalize the work of 6 Palestinian civil society organizations and your silence on this important matter. These groups are working to defend the human rights of Palestinians and are even representing them in the International Criminal Court. You have voted repeatedly to continue aid of almost 4 billion dollars annually to Israel and Israel is using this money to murder & oppress Palestinians. I call on Senator ________ to join with Representatives McCullom and Omar in publicly criticizing Israel for their attack on these 6 Palestinian human rights organizations and to stop voting to fund more aid to Israel.
