We Stand with Immigrants
Statement from the Anti-War Committee
June 8, 2025
On Tuesday, June 3rd, Trump’s ICE, along with the Minneapolis Police Department, and the FBI conducted a highly militarized raid in South Minneapolis.
The Anti-War Committee condemns this violent act of intimidation against our immigrant community members in the strongest possible terms. These raids serve to strike fear into the hearts of our most vulnerable communities, and we stand in absolute solidarity with those fighting back in Minneapolis and across the country.
This follows a sweeping pattern of attacks and intimidation tactics against immigrants under the Trump administration. Follow @mirac for more updates on these heinous actions and how to fight back.
These actions fit into a wider framework of racist attacks against people of the global south, both at home and abroad.
Just two days after the raid, Trump signed off on a travel ban targeting some of the most heavily sanctioned countries in the world, such as Venezuela and Iran, as well as countries ravaged by U.S. military intervention like Somalia.
U.S. imperialism forces people to flee their home countries. When they happen to find themselves seeking refuge in the U.S., we have a duty to stand up for their rights.
We must demand an end to the militarization of our borders, federal agencies like ICE, and our local police departments. U.S. weapons developed for war are always brought back to use in our local communities. The military-style raid on the 3rd is a predictable result.
It’s time to put an end to the U.S. war machine and say NO to Trump’s racist attacks on immigrants.
