Bannering: Solidarity with Cuba and Haiti
Thursday, July 29 @5pm at Mayday Plaza in front of Mayday books near 301 Cedar Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55454
Join us at May Day Plaza for a solidarity bannering.
Hands off Cuba!
End the Embargo!
No troops in Haiti!
US out of Latin America and the Caribbean!
Come show solidarity with the people of Cuba and Haiti who have been recently targeted by U.S. intervention attempts. In the last couple weeks U.S. media has explicitly used imagery of several protests “for freedom” to drum up support for U.S. intervention.
Cuba has been under U.S. embargo for 60 years that has specifically impacted Cuba’s ability recently to respond to import necessary medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cuba was forced to develop their own COVID-19 vaccine, but have had limited access to syringes.
On July 7th, Haiti’s President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated by a group of Colombian and US mercenaries, many who were trained by the U.S. at the School of the Americas.
We denounce these U.S. attempts to force their hand via intervention in the Caribbean.
Initiated by the Anti-War Committee.
