Minnesotans Plan to Protest Supreme Court’s Muslim Ban Decision

The MN Anti-War Committee and the Council on American Islamic Relations have called for an emergency response protest at the Federal Courts building (300 S. 4th St. in Minneapolis) at 6pm today to protest the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Trump’s Muslim ban.   

 

Tracy Molm, a member of the MN Anti-War Committee explains, “We are outraged that the U.S. Supreme Court is again using the pretext of ‘national security’ to justify another racist U.S. policy.  It is imperative that we take to the streets tonight – just like we did when Trump first issued his racist Muslim ban – to say NO to Trump’s policies of escalating wars in places like Somalia and Syria while at the same time demonizing and banning people that flee the results of these U.S. wars.”

 

Since being elected, President Trump has tried to implement his Muslim ban three times.  Each time, thousands of Minnesotans have taken to the streets and to the airports to call Trump out on his attempt to put anti-Muslim bigotry into law. The MN Anti-War Committee organized a protest of 15,000 in downtown Minneapolis in January 2017 to protest the first attempt of the Muslim ban and is working with the Council on Islamic Relations to again push back on the Trump administration’s attacks on the Muslim community and Muslim immigrants.
