Solidarity with St. Paul Teachers!

Solidarity with St. Paul Teachers!

The Anti-War Committee stands in solidarity with the St. Paul Federation of Teachers (SPFT) who went on strike today.  The SPFT’s demands are focused on racial equity and improving the educational environment for all of the district’s students.    It is sad that teachers have to go on strike for these demands. Schools should be fully funded in the United States. Instead the U.S. fully funds war!  According to a 2019 study by Brown University’s Watson Institute, the US has spent $6.4 trillion on wars post-9/11.  We demand money for schools not war!   Unions play a vital role in defending the rights of workers and students and the Anti-War Committee will be on the picket line with SPFT members!  As workers, parents, and St. Paul residents, we know the struggle of SPFT is our fight too!
